Getting people out to paint!

For the second year, our painters joined the NACC kids camp to help them see painters at work and to get them going on their own plein air pictures. Success! The kids, parents and counselors all enjoyed observing artists with different materials, and understand the concepts of plein air. Be outside, enjoy your time and paint what you see.

Sherrill captured a big audience.
Is this Donna? The benches in Memorial Park made it easy to sit up and demonstrate to the very interested camp kids. .

They worked in sun, in shade, under the tent or right next to the 'grown' artists.

Carol invited us to the Niagara River

Joan Turrell concentrated on Carol's garden

Carol's lovely home nestles on the East River of Grand Island and she scheduled a paint date for us on an stunning lovely summer day. Her gardens are lovely, the river was calm and the camaraderie was special, as usual.
Kath Schifano focused on hollyhocks

High water at Youngstown

With all the news of high water on Lake Ontario, we should not have been surprised to see water over the docks and onto the walkways. The Niagara river and Mother Nature do what they want!

It was a treat to be on the level of the water. Carol always manages to choose sunshine for our yacht club paint dates and her studio is an ever changing panorama of her continually evolving paintings.

Jeanette wowed all of us with this Sky.  Even better in person.
