River Lea on Grand Island

River Lea is a historic homestead on the grounds of Grand Island's Beaver Island State Park. Nestled at the southern tip of the island, it faces the Niagara River. Open for special events during the year, the historical society maintains River Lea and the grounds. Just another perfect day to paint en plein air. All the painters were amazed at the marvels of Grand Island, it's not just the road to Buffalo or Niagara Falls!

Broderick Park in Buffalo

Amazing sunlight, warm breezes, a beautiful day in western New York, who could ask for more? These painters did. They packed up their supplies and chose Broderick Park, right on the Buffalo section of the Niagara River for a morning of painting, followed by a social lunch to compare images and praise the day.

Donna Hale is starting her view of the businesses in Fort Erie with pastel.
Diane Goupil, who always has the best hats, sketches before starting a watercolor.
Jean MacDonald catches a breeze as she exp[lains plein air.
Kathy couldn't paint today, but Robin, Amelia and Ian stopped by to check out the sights! That's the International Peace Bridge in the distance.
