World Wide Paintout

http//ipap.homestea d.com/paintout. html

I [Kath Schifano] registered our upcoming paintout at the grain elevators in September as part of the international plein air paintout weekend. Now we will be artists together in spirit, painting throughout the world. We can post our photos/artwork on their site.

I will also paint on Saturday at the MUSIC IS ART fest at the Albright Knox that Saturday.

A slight haze, but with bright light, we could almost hear the buds opening on this beautiful Spring day.
Kathy McDonell,  Deborah Kane, Donna Hale, Joan Shaw, Ann Stievator, Sharon Fundalinski, Linda Piper, Beverly McIntyre, Joan Turrell & Kath Schifano painted the subtleties of early Spring at Burchfield Nature & Art center.

Grain Elevator Paint Out

April 2nd was supposed to be a nice day, but as nature would have it, the sun shone while the temperature dipped into the thirties. Wind howled through the Buffalo’s historic Elevator Alley, freezing fingers and toes of four hearty Niagara Frontier Plein Air Painters, Peggy, Carol, Sharon, and Kath.

In spite of the bitter cold they created some awesome images of the legendary  Buffalo River grain elevators.

One of these days we will get together, have an NFPAP meeting so all can learn to post their new work easily. In the meantime, I'll add my own!

This jewel 'Land for Lease' was a truly quick painting-only 5x7. It was selected for the cover of the Partners in Art NFPAP show-I feel like I won a prize! It also made me realize that the quick plein air pictures are usually the best.

Partners in Art Gallery Opening

It was a lovely evening with many guests at the opening for NFPAP on March 6. Some stayed all evening, while others came & went, so the crowd kept changing.

Joan Horn & Glenna Sternin, the 'partners' at the gallery did a wonderful job hanging our work & preparing the labels & statements.

Expanding horizons

Welcome to our new blog! We all use email already, so it is simple to use this new service.

Perfect painting weather is coming. The photo shows Kath Schifano, Sharon Fundalinski & Peggy Walker at the East Aurora Art show, June 2008.

It is very easy to post images and text in a  blog, quite similar to writing email. However, for now, I will post onto the blog for all of us. Send your comment to me at [ksartny@yahoo.com] sign your name so we know who wrote it, and I will cut & paste your text as soon as I open my email. Write a title for your post. Please try to include a picture-we love jpegs! Use 'blog' as your subject. After we get started, it may change so anyone can post messages without emailing it to me. You can also post your own comments on someone else's post without going through me. You just click the 'comment' button at the bottom of a message. Just try it----anything can be changed at any time---nothing is permanent---as it is easy to edit.

There is no specific subject, we can write about directions to a site, paint, media, locations, new materials or make comments & ask questions of each other. If you have a website, you can link to the blog. Send me your website & it can be listed on the main page as this develops. I've been journal blogging about my own art for a while now, you can access it at www.kschifano.blogspot.com for an idea of what my concept looks like. Click at the top of any page & see various blogs from all over the world---everyone is doing this! Lots of grandkids and puppies, religious groups, schools, different languages. My favorite is the RV retired couple that blogs to let the kids know where they are. Feel free to email me or just click on comments below.
