Ferry Village Paintout

Hosted by Diane and Jean, the paintings at Ferry Village are evident of the skill our painters have developed outdoors this summer. A light breeze and sun that is occasionally cooled by shadows, another good day to be a plein air artist.

Lake Ontario's stunning views

We were invited to paint 'trailers and flowers' at Laurene's invitation but we mostly landed on the lake shore to capture the day.
One at a time, we got started painting in a 'perfect spot'. After a morning drawing and painting we get together to talk about the paintings, supplies, and keep developing deeper friendships in the fresh air. On this day the drizzle didn't stop anyone from painting or lunch talk. Well actually this time a few kept painting instead of gathering. The light rain didn't bother anyone under the trees.

From the left, Joan, Jean, Kath, Laurene, Roy and Diane.

Some were complete by the lunch get together. Martha's grandson, Dexter, contributed by drawing Roy's red car.

At the Park by the Lewiston Silo Restaurant

The well known Silo Restaurant in Lewiston is a former Silo, perched on the edge of the Lower Niagara River cliff and a favorite spot for great food, ice cream and also painting.

CLICK THIS LINK TO WATCH!     NFPAP in Lewiston on television

Mike Randall from Channel 7, WKBW, came by Lewiston and the Silo Restaurant to see us painting and inquire about Plein Air. What a lovely report!

Mike Randall of WKBW joined the paintout in Lewiston, but brought his movie camera. Nice to see him again and thankful that he is such a pro at editing our comments.

Hopefully he will bring his sketchbook another time. Here is Mike Randall's drawing of Roy at the Silo, not yet a plein air artist he did this from a film still!

Chestnut Ridge

Erie County has amazing parks. Chestnut Ridge has miles of views from the ridge, paths to challenge, old growth forests and acres of space and picnic areas. Here is Peggy Walker's stunning pastel of the forest view from a paintout in the park hosted by Paulette.

Buffalo Marina 6/28/21

Every year, the Marina delivers sunshine, fresh breezes and paintable views in every direction. Our painters were spread out, facing the city or the lake or the apartments or boats. One could paint here every day and find a new view.

Elevator Alley

The weather,  clear and sunny with a bit of breeze. Sitting by the Buffalo River can get chilly but it’s worth it to be here
